The many flaws of Jeff the Killer.

Before we start I would like to point out that I do like Jeff the Killer, however these glaring flaws are something every fan should at least be made aware of.

We all know the story of how Jeff was bullied and damn near killed by some local punks and how the horrific disfigurements he got twisted his fragile mind yadda yadda yadda.

Now let's get our heads out the clouds and take a more realistic approach, starting with his original injuries.

Jeff was burned in two different ways, with fire, and with bleach, let's start with the bleach, Jeff is almost always depicted as having a very pale face, as a result of his bleaching, however in reality, the contact with the bleach would result in a chemical burn which would require treatment from a GP, the burning would be relatively minor and would eventually heal, the only real risk would occur if the bleach ended up INSIDE Jeff's body. The white face is most likely the result of a misconception on the author's part, bathroom bleach isn't the same as hair bleach.

Although that being said the chemical burn was irrelevant as he was also burned by the fire, which was later fixed with skin grafts, for those who don't know what skin grafting is, it's a medical procedure where burned/infected skin is removed and replaced with healthy skin from another part of the victim's body. Seeing as only Jeff's face was bleached, and the doner skin would come from elsewhere on his body, there is no way his face would be pale white after the operation.

Next we shall move on to Jeff's self inflicted injuries.

Starting with his Glasgow Smile (the technical term for a cut smile) considering how far he actually cut himself he's lucky he didn't bleed to death, and even though he was lucky enough to live through it, a massive open wound like that is helpless against infection and would quickly turn septic, which is fatal if untreated. But he probably wouldn't live to see that anyway since he'd probably starve to death because he wouldn't be able to eat or drink, and the food and drink would fall out his sliced open mouth, and he wouldn't be able to chew properly.

And then there's him burning of his own eyelids, there's no way around it, he would go blind, if not straight away from having an open flame right next to his eyes, then it's from the fact that he can no longer defend his eyes from airborne dirt, dust, and goodness knows what, the only way he could combat this if he CONSTANTLY applied eye-drops, and that would be the rest of his life, applying eye-drops just so he didn't go blind. And then there's the fact that he'd need patches for his eyes in order to sleep, you can't just not sleep forever, your brain would eventually force your body to shut down and you'd go into a coma, and that's assuming you don't die during your coma.

Now we've addressed his injuries, let's talk about his physical apperence, I've already talked about how his skin wouldn't turn white, but he's also often shown to be without a nose, replacing his nose would be part of the skin graft so that's something else debunked, now there's the fact that Jeff has a full head of black hair, the story talks about how his hair was brown, but became black as a result of the burning. No, he'd be lucky to have any hair left at all, and it wouldn't turn black, or any other colour for that matter.

Now, one thing that really pisses me off is how poorly mental illness is portrayed in the story, it basically goes Jeff is normal > Jeff goes through trauma > Jeff is a phycho. If going through bully/injury related trauma made people a sociopathic murderer, I would be doing time for mass homicide right now. If anything Jeff would end up with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, for him to become a sociopath he'd have to already be one from birth. Which the story doesn't suggest is the case.

I've covered all the major issues now, and it's time to move on it the other flaws, starting with the fact that there is no evidence that Jeff ever changes his clothes, he always wears the same white hoodie and black trousers, and I would assume the same shoes, socks, and underpants. So he must absolutely stink, you would smell him form a mile away, and not only does his stink, but he would chafe like crazy, if you've ever gone for a walk with your pants chafing you, you'll understand how difficult it is, and Jeff is supposed to be able to run from the police while chafing, good luck with that sunshine. He probably has no opportunity to clean his teeth either, smelly breath and gum disease, another winning combination on how to make life difficult and painful.

I don't think anyone has even considered the fact that Jeff is homeless, so I don't see how he can hide from the police when he has nowhere to hide, and even if he got lucky, he would be sleeping outside, with no sleeping bag, completely exposed to the elements and debilitating illnesses like the common cold and the flu.

And to top it all off, Jeff is a THIRTEEN YEAR OLD BOY, so even if he was perfectly healthy and had 20/20 vision, he would easy to overpower, in spite of the fact he's swinging a knife around.

So in reality, Jeff the Killer would be a burned, blind, bald, hungry, tired, dehydrated, smelly, homeless weakling with a poor immune system and PTSD, who would be caught by the police very easily and probably wouldn't live through his first 48 hours in jail.

And teenage girl think that's sexy?
