Well... I must say I was very impressed with the episode and it was an excellent way to mark the 5th anniversary of the show, the episode had some of the best character development ever seen, usually reserved for season openers and finales, I must inform you that the next paragraph onward there will be spoilers, although that has been ample time for everyone to see the episode, if you read further and have the episode spoiled, then it's your own fault.

The plot was something I never would've expected, the central character was, of all ponies, Diamond Tiara, undoubtedly the most hated character of the series, and her story was one of atonement and redemption, in the episode we finally meet Diamond's mother, Spoiled Rich, who is the reason that Diamond is the way she is, her position of power and classist ideals moulded Diamond into something she never was comfortable with, and when the CMC were able to put everything the Diamond had done to them behind them to help her become a better pony, and it was at this point the Crusaders learned what their true calling was, and that was helping others learning about their own true callings, to which, after exactly five years of build-up, the Crusaders got their cutie marks.

Yes, this is really what they look like, I personally am not fond of the designs at all, the idea of them all having the same cutie mark doesn't seem feasible to me, and what the hell do they even mean? I don't see how these represent their talent at all, I do like how they have their talent represented in their marks but I really don't care for the shields, however, I'm sure I can learn to live with them.

I watched the episode too and I really loved it. I was actually really surprised to see that Diamond Tiara was only acting the way she was because her mother brought her up that way and made her think that her position as a rich young pony meant she needed to force others to fall in line behind her, when all along, Diamond was meant to use her position to help others. It makes me wonder what she'll do next now that she's reformed into a better pony.

As for the Cutie Marks the Crusaders received, ^w^ I quite love them. And...I think I know what they actually mean. Sweetie Bell has a star and music note which signifies that she loves to sing and, like her big sister Rarity, dreams of becoming a popular singer and sing for everypony. Scootaloo has a wing and lightning bolt because she always loves riding around on her scooter and dreams of one day being able to really fly. And Apple Bloom has a heart and apple because she was born an Apple of the farm and she's very kind and passionate about what she does. As for the shields, it symbolizes that they are three best friends who came together under the mutual cause of wanting to find their true talents and earn their Cutie Marks together. And now that they have them, together, they will do their best to help others earn their Cutie Marks or see what their marks truly mean (as they did with Troubleshoes and Diamond). Basically, they're like little Warrior Shields emblazoned with emblems of their personalities representing who they are.

...At least that's how I perceived it.
