So I watched the Royal Rumble, this being the first PPV that I got to watch live thanks to the WWE Network. Any of my watchers who are WWE fans will know this but for the rest of you, this Rumble has been considered to be the worst Rumble ending they've ever had. Which us a damn shame me because the rest of the show wasn't so bad.

The preshow match was The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Big E w/ Xavier Woods) VS Tyson Kidd and Cesaro (w/ Natalya and for some reason Adam Rose) The match went about as well as you'd expect a match with the New Day to go, an eleven minute bore fest with the New Day jobbing to Kidd and Cesaro.

The opening match was The New Age Outlaws VS NXT's latest failures The Ascension, a mercifully short match which saw The Ascension win clean. They have yet to impress me.

The event finally picked up with The Usos defending the tag team titles against The Miz and Mizdow. As expected The Miz let Mizdow do fuck all the whole match despite the crowd's protests, with Mizdow getting a little spotlight near the end before The Uso's retained.

Then there was a tag team Diva's match, the Bellas VS Natalya and Paige. Two words Toilet Break. Bellas won, moving on.

Now we have the best match of the night, The WHC triple threat match Brock Lesnar VS John Cena VS Seth Rollins. While most people may have thought Rollins would've won (that's who I was hoping for) the result of Brock Lesnar retaining the title in what appears to be a face turn, the match ran for 23 minutes with an incredible show put on by all involved, however the ending was a little predictable as there was a point in the match where Lesnar was going to be carted out on a stretcher after he received a "broken rib" only for him to make a miraculous recovery to F-5 Rollins and retain the title. While I wasn't happy with Lesnar retaining, I was happy that Cena didn't tie Ric Flair's record of being a 16 time title holder.

And now we have the Royal Rumble match... Well the match started off rather promising with the first surprise entrant coming in at number 3, being none other than Bubba Ray Dudley. Bray Wyatt came in at number 5 who dominated a large portion of the match, with one particular mark out moment being the second surprise entrant coming in at number 7, The Boogeyman was in the ring one on one with Wyatt where they spent a full minute trying to out-wired each other before Wyatt eliminated Boogeyman, at number 9 Zack Ryder returned followed by Daniel Bryan at number 10, the rumble was pretty bog standard until number 14 entered, the third and final surprise entrant Diamond Dallas Page. Eventual winner Roman Reigns entered at number 19 to very loud boos. The rumble went downhill after Bryan took an early exit from the match, the crowd then turned on everybody else. In the end the match came down to Roman Reigns, and Big Show and Kane of the authority. They destroyed Reigns, and he would've gone if The Rock didn't come and save him. After Kane and Big Show were eliminated Rusev surprised everyone by reminding us he was never eliminated and charged Reigns, however Reigns threw him over the top rope leading to him officially winning the match. Nobody wanted to see Reigns win and he looked incredibly weak by the end, as much as I want to like Reigns after such a poor display even I can't get behind him now, I think that WWE have ruined any hope over getting Reigns over with the fans now.

In my opinion they should've done what was done in the 2005 Rumble and made the title match the main event instead of the Rumble match, at least that way the crowd could've left on a high note, the dreadful ending overshadowed all that was good about the event. When endorsement from the Rock can't put you over then you have no chance in hell of a future where the fans accept you.
